Engines and packs
How a game is assembled from engines, and the difference between Standard and Advanced.
A game is made of engines. Each engine is one system, such as collecting pets or breeding them.
Core engines
Five engines come with your plan: Collector, Care, Markets, Social and Appearance. Free games get Collector and Care. Studio and above get all five.
Packs
Ten more engines are sold as packs. Studio includes two, Pro includes five, and Max includes all ten. You can add more on Studio and Pro.
Standard and Advanced
Most engines come in two depths.
- Standard is complete and playable.
- Advanced adds the deeper tools that established games want.
Two packs, Avatar Studio and Homestead, are Advanced only and need Pro or Max.
Trying before you buy
Every engine can be tried in your sandbox for free. You only need the plan or pack to publish it to players.
